MEMBERSHIP FEE SCHEDULES
Chamber invoices membership dues on a yearly basis, from January 1 st to December 31 st .
Membership dues are payable within 60 days of the invoicing date or the member is no longer a member in good standing (as per our By-Laws) and no longer eligible for the benefits of being a Chamber member.
A “ member in good standing ” is entitled to all the benefits of being a Chamber member and include a long distance discount plan, extended medical/dental benefits, discounts on charge card deposits, member-to-member discounts within the community, special advertising opportunities, etc to name just a few. These benefits are available to members only.
Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held in June of each year. ONLY members in good standing have the right to vote at this AGM (as per our By-Laws).
DEFINITIONS
• Membership Categories – are based on the number of full-time employees you have. Two part-time employees equal one full-time employee.
• Member in good standing – any member who has paid their dues for the current year.
• Home-based Business – as defined by the City Business License Requirements
• Community Association – an organization registered under the Societies Act with no restriction on membership.
• Payment Schedule – quarterly post-dated cheques accepted on the yearly rates by arrangement with the Chamber office.
• Yearly – January 1 st to December 31 st
First Quarter : Jan 1 st - March 31 st Second Quarter : April 1 st - June 30 th
Third Quarter : July 1 st - Sept 30 th Fourth Quarter : Oct 1 st - Dec 31 st
Dues – Year dues are payable each January. Should you join during the year, your dues will be pro-rated to the end of the current year as per the attached schedules.
TEDA Levy: (Terrace Economic Development Authority Levy)
TEDA was formed through a partnership of the City of Terrace and your Chamber of Commerce. It is responsible for the development and promotion of strategic economic opportunities in Terrace and is governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the founding members. It is a “not-for-profit” society.
At the June 1999 AGM, a motion was passed [Doug McLeod/Sharalyn Palagian] that “the Terrace & District Chamber of Commerce institute a $20.00 levy on membership dues effective August 1, 1999; and that this levy be sent to TEDA on a quarterly basis to fund their operations”.
